Caring for Your Pearls
【Wiping】
The pearl is composed of calcium carbonate. The sweat can cause damage to the surface of your pearls if it is left unwiped.
However, this does not mean that you should be afraid of getting any sweat on them at all. Use a soft, dry cloth and wipe off the sweat on the surface before you put them away.
If any stains are left over, wipe them down with a cloth that has been dampened and tightly wrung, and then remove any remaining moisture with a dry cloth.
Do not wear pearls before applying any makeup. Always wear your pearls after makeup is applied.

Use a circular motion when wiping.
【Avoiding Humidity and Dryness】
Storing your pearls in extremely humid or dry environment may damage the nacre material (mother-of-pearl) and cause them to lose their shine.
They can be kept inside a chest of drawers, but make sure you do not store them next to mothballs or other insect repellents.
Avoid wearing your pearls when doing any kind of work involving water.
【Avoiding Lengthy Exposure to Light and Heat】
Prolonged exposure to heat may cause the proteins within the nacreous layer to denature over time, causing discoloration.
Do not store your pearls in any location exposed to direct sunlight.

【Avoiding Storing with Other Jewelry】
Pearls are not especially difficult jewels to handle.
They are like living creatures.
If you treat them with love and care, they can be used for many years to come.

【Changing the String on your Pearl Necklace】
The string on your necklace may become loose after years of wear.
We recommend changing out the string every four to five years depending on the frequency of usage.
